Frequently Asked Questions

Do you accept insurance?

If your coverage includes the ability to choose your own provider, or choose out of network coverage, that tends to work best for my services. I provide billing statements that contain all of the information necessary for insurance reimbursement, and ask that clients do their own insurance billing.

What is your fee?

$130 per hour for a 55-minute therapy session. Payment is due at the time of the session.

Do you provide any consultation prior to the first appointment?

I am happy to answer questions and discuss your specific needs in a phone call in advance of the appointment.

How long will it take for you to get back to me once I call?

I make every effort to return a call the same day I receive a voice mail message. It's helpful if when you leave your phone number, to let me know several specific times that you will be available to receive a call back (especially because blocks of my day are scheduled with clients). I also return phone calls in the evening if that is convenient for you. I prefer to communicate via the phone rather than email.

How soon can I get an appointment?

I can normally provide an appointment time that works for your schedule within one to two weeks, usually sooner. If you are experiencing a crisis, please let me know, and I will try to accommodate you the same day if possible, at the very least within a few days.

Do you have evening or weekend appointments?

I have evening office hours Monday, Wednesday, and Friday evenings. I can discuss Saturday appointments if you have a difficult schedule.

At my Santa Cruz office, conveniently located between downtown Santa Cruz and the Seabright area, I offer couples therapy and individual and family counseling and therapy. I also specialize in child therapy, including art and play therapy
